The Scholarship for Individuals with Determination is dedicated to empowering students with disabilities by providing them with opportunities for higher education. This scholarship aims to support determined individuals who face physical, sensory, cognitive, or other challenges in their pursuit of academic excellence and personal growth.

Maldivian national.
Must have a documented disability diagnosed by a licensed medical professional OR
Must be listed in the National Disability Registry
Meet the entry requirements of the chosen programme at Â鶹ÊÓƵ
Not currently enrolled in any tertiary education institute
Selection Criteria:

Completed scholarship application form
Copy of National ID Card
Medical certificate or documentation confirming the disability (issued by a licensed medical professional)
Academic transcripts and certificates (including O-Level/A-Level or equivalent qualifications)
Letters of recommendation (minimum two) from teachers, mentors, or professionals who can attest to the
applicant's commitment to education and having leadership potential
Evidence of community engagement or extracurricular activities (if applicable)
Personal statement (300–500 words):

Their academic goals and the motivation behind choosing their field of study.
The challenges they have faced due to their disability and how they have demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and determination in overcoming these obstacles.
How receiving the scholarship will help them achieve both their personal and professional aspirations, including their plans to contribute positively to their chosen field and society.
Any leadership roles, community involvement, or advocacy efforts they have undertaken, particularly as related to inclusivity, disability advocacy, or social improvement.
Criteria for Selection:
(Evaluated based on academic performance in previous qualifications, including O-Level/A-Level results or equivalent. Extra consideration will be given to applicants who have shown improvement or excellence despite challenges.)
(Assessed on the applicant’s ability to articulate their educational goals, the impact of their disability on their academic journey, and how they plan to use their degree to make a difference in their community and field.)
(Consideration will be given to the extent to which the applicant has demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and determination in facing and overcoming challenges related to their disability.
(Based on the applicant’s involvement in leadership roles, volunteer work, or community projects, with special attention to initiatives related to disability advocacy, inclusivity, or social improvement.)
(Evaluated on the applicant’s potential to contribute positively to their field of study and broader society, including aspirations for leadership, advocacy, or community service post-graduation.)
