Street Law Inc. USA at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ offers an enriching experience for our law students by training them in interactive teaching pedagogy. Under the guidance of law academicians and practitioners, students teach, train, and spread legal awareness to high school students, underprivileged communities, and the general public. This initiative aims to provide practical education about law, democracy, and human rights, helping young people transition into adulthood with essential socio-legal knowledge. By focusing daily life, Street Law Inc. ensures that students impart valuable legal information while developing critical skills such as research, presentation, and public speaking. Additionally, it establishes a model to support vulnerable individuals, preparing them for successful adulthood through law as a life skill.

The Legal Aid Clinic at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is dedicated to providing clinical education through a pro-bono culture. Our law students offer legal advice to those who cannot afford it, gaining practical experience under the supervision of volunteering lawyers. This programme aims to establish a platform where students can provide legal services to indigent individuals, ensuring quality representation while preparing students with essential graduation skills. Through clinical learning, students assist with research, draft legal arguments, and observe court proceedings, enhancing their practical legal education and preparing them for various areas of law such as immigration, environmental, and criminal defense.

The Judge in Residence initiative at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Law Faculty allows students and academics to engage with some of the Maldives’ most influential judicial leaders through workshops, classes, and lectures. This program fosters mutual learning between judges and academics, providing students with insights into court workings and the role of Maldivian judges. It supports retired judges in academic activities, including writing and research, and encourages engagement between the judiciary and the law faculty, enhancing the academic and professional experience of students.

MTAC is a student-run club dedicated to developing essential lawyering skills through experiential learning platforms like moot competitions, mock trials, and arbitration competitions. This initiative aims to strengthen students’ legal research and drafting skills, develop court mannerism and oratory skills, and simulate real courtroom conditions for practical learning. Through MTAC, students gain valuable experience that prepares them for successful careers in law by providing real-world practice in legal proceedings.
