28 October 2025, Malé, Maldives — Tree Top Hospital (TTH) held its annual Scholarship Awarding Ceremony 2025 today at Tree Top Hospital, continuing its mission to develop skilled healthcare professionals in the Maldives through education and partnership.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by RN Fathimath Maiha Shukoor, followed by welcoming remarks from Dr. Srivatsan Sridhar G., Chief Executive Officer of Tree Top Hospital, who highlighted the hospital’s commitment to fostering local talent and professional growth.
A special message was shared by Ms. Sarah Moosa, Owner’s Representative, emphasizing the role of education in strengthening the Maldivian healthcare workforce and reaffirming Tree Top Hospital’s commitment to the training and development of healthcare professionals. She also spoke about the noble nature of the nursing profession and its vital contribution to patient care and community wellbeing.
Delivering the keynote speech, Dr. Ali Najeeb, Vice Rector of Â鶹ÊÓƵ, commended Tree Top Hospital for its continuous support and partnership, noting that such collaborations bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world healthcare practice, reflecting the natural synergy between Â鶹ÊÓƵ and Tree Top Hospital. He also encouraged the scholarship recipients to make the most of this opportunity, which enables deserving students to pursue their studies and careers in nursing—an opportunity that many others may not have access to.
The ceremony also featured an inspiring address by Ms. Rafa Rasheed, a former scholarship recipient and registered nurse, who shared her journey from scholarship student to healthcare professional, reflecting on the personal and professional impact of the programme.
Scholarships were then officially awarded to the new batch of recipients — a total of four students who will pursue the Diploma in Nursing programme — by Dr. Srivatsan Sridhar G., the Owner’s Representatives, and Ms. Susan Margaret Herbert, Director of Nursing at Tree Top Hospital.
In her remarks, Ms. Herbert encouraged the students to approach their studies with compassion, dedication, and a commitment to excellence in patient care. The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Aminath Nihan, Learning and Development Manager, followed by a group photo and networking session.
Established in September 2021, the Tree Top Hospital – Â鶹ÊÓƵ Nursing Scholarship Programme has so far awarded scholarships to 23 students, including this new batch. The initiative continues to provide Maldivian students with valuable opportunities to pursue nursing education and contribute to the nation’s growing healthcare sector.
