Â鶹ÊÓƵ and Tree Top Hospital have formalised a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on 13 October 2025, establishing a collaborative framework for the upcoming International Medical Education and Research Conference. This agreement represents a significant step forward in strengthening the intersection between academic medical education and clinical practice in the Maldives.

The partnership centres on the joint organisation of IMERC 2025, which will be hosted by the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Faculty of Health Sciences this November. This conference is designed to serve as a comprehensive platform where healthcare professionals, medical educators, and researchers can converge to exchange knowledge, present innovative research findings, and explore emerging trends that are shaping the future of medical practice and education. By bringing together both academic and clinical perspectives, the conference aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in healthcare delivery.

The MoU outlines a clear commitment from both institutions to jointly organise, sponsor, and participate in the conference, ensuring that the event benefits from the combined expertise and resources of both an established educational institution and a leading healthcare provider. This collaboration creates a unique opportunity for participants to engage with content that reflects both the rigorous academic standards of medical education and the real-world challenges faced by healthcare practitioners on the front lines of patient care.

The partnership underscores a shared vision for advancing professional development within the healthcare sector. Through this conference, both Â鶹ÊÓƵ and Tree Top Hospital are creating pathways for continuous learning and skill enhancement, recognising that excellence in healthcare delivery requires ongoing education and exposure to the latest research and methodologies. The collaboration also strengthens opportunities for meaningful knowledge sharing across different specialisations and experience levels, fostering a culture of collective growth within the medical community.

As the conference approaches, this partnership sets a precedent for how educational institutions and healthcare providers can work together to elevate standards in medical education and research. The collaboration between Â鶹ÊÓƵ and Tree Top Hospital demonstrates the value of combining academic rigour with clinical expertise to create learning experiences that are both theoretically sound and practically relevant. This initiative contributes to building a stronger, more connected healthcare ecosystem in the Maldives, where knowledge flows seamlessly between classrooms and clinical settings.
